Bearing clearance can be checked with plastigage.You can get it at your local parts supply warehouse.To measure cylinder walls you need either a cylinder bore gage or an inside micrometer.Cylinders are permited to be up to.002 inch out of round and up to .006 inch taper and still be concidered acceptable to control compression and oil consumption..002 inch clearance on the bearings would be great.If you have more than .004 inch there will be to much oil thrown off that the oil control rings will not be able to control it and you will start to see oil consumption past the rings.
