I've been seeing this ad in, I guess, the same paper (the SC Agriculture Dept. Market Bulletin) for almost a year now. I didn't think he was right about the 70hp, either. But people often overestimate their own machines. When the ad first appeared it said Farmall 450 semi-diesel, which I took to be starts-on-gas. But after a couple of months it changed to just diesel. Maybe just to save space in the ad. I think I remember that the price was higher at first, too, maybe even 12k, but it hasn't gone down anymore for a long time. Rather than unscrupulous, I fantasized that he was an old guy who couldn't really use it anymore, whose wife insisted he sell it, but who couldn't bear to part with a friend of forty years so he set a price no one would pay.
