Have you tried a cylinder leakage test yet? There are gauges made which will give you a percent of air going into the cylinder. you already know you have a problem, this can be done simply. Pull the plugs, bring a piston to top dead center on the compression stroke and introduce some compressed air to the cylinder. It is easy to make a fitting from an old spark plgu to do this or some parts stores have a tool for this. with air going in listen for escaping air. If it is in the exhaust or intake it is the respective valve. Air in the crankcase, air is going past the rings, bubbles in the radiator the head is crached or blown head gasket.
