1955 IH CUB TRANSMISSION GROWL !

Recently purchased Cub , Did not check out thoroughly, !#*#! Lesson #1. 1st & Rev., have a LOUD GROWL and a tick tick sound 2nd & 3rd normal whine and a tick tick noise Taken cover off and can't see anything other than normal wear. There must be a gear thats not getting along with its mate ! thus the NOISE ANY IDEAS !? PLEASE I have drained oil , and checked DIFF., everthing else seems OK . THANKS REGARDS TERRY

Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
