Diesel or kerosene will do the job. But the way fuel prices are, it would only cost a couple $ more to flush the trans with 80W-90. Suggest this: Drain the old lube (be sure to remove both trans drain plugs - also the belt pulley housing if it's got one). Refill the trans with 80W-90 then run the tractor for a few hours (or days) to get everything good and stirred up inside. Finally drain the transmission and refill again with fresh 80W-90. This way you don't risk ruining anything inside on account of having run it filled with a solvent instead of lubricant.
