Tim, give us a bit more information.This is gas or diesel? How many hours are on the tractor? If you use it in the winter are you using a lighter oil? You could have leaking valve guides (seals) or you could need a ring job. Best advice is to do a compression test on each cylinder. They should all be within a few pounds of each other. Some suggest a low of 85-90 lbs up to a high of around 110 lbs. Tractors can smoke if the carburator is not properly set. Does the tractor run fine otherwise? Does it seem to consume a lot of fuel? Any missing in the firing as it runs? Give us some feedback and I'm sure you will get many suggestionns that will help you. Good luck from Mike Soldan in Exeter Ontario
