Steve: I bought a new pump for my 400 a few yrs back, didn't get around to installing it for a yr. or so and when I did, it did the same thing I couldn't return it cause it had been too long so after the 4th seal I took it apart and couldn't find anything wrong so I chucked it up in the lathe and cut a snap ring groove to hold the seal from being pushed out.Well the seal doesent push out any more now it just leakes around the O.D. and or I.D. so I took out the plug out where you grease the tack drive gears then plummed a 1/4' copper line back to the resavoir ain't right but it solved the problem no more hyd oil in the crank case maybe yours could be fixed this way good luck Geo
