Mike - Like some of the others below suggest, a Delco 10SI will fit under the hood of an H, but it's a REAL tight squeeze. I've seen several at shows - a couple nicely done, but others with the hood beat out to provide space. An alternative is to use an alternator off a modern compact tractor or piece of landscape equipment. These are made by Denso or Hitachi (?). and are not much bigger than a couple of stacked hockey pucks. Would fit easily under the hood of an H. Downside is cost. Denny's Carb Shop catalogs 'em at $249, though one might be had thru a rebuilder for less.
