Sandblasting works good, but you must protect all open or vented areas to the engine and drive line, and also the radiator. Several layers of duct tape works good. I use sand sold for sandblasting which I get at the sand supplier. The black stuff works good,b ut cost more. Keep the blasting nozzel at a 45 degree angle to the sheetmetal, to reduce warpage. Use a good primer which will inhibit rust, not a laquer based primer. Epoxy primer is expensive but the best. Rustoleum is good if you let it dry a week or two. Be sure to blow off all the sand from everywhere when you are done, or when you least expect it, the paint gun will blow the sand right into the painted tractor.
