power steering/ oil cooler lines 806

Question is:
Hyd.lines go to p.s. unit to move the rack/piston in or out, ok, what is the line for that is in the center of the unit in the pinion beg area? it it to carry any leakage to the cooler and back to the resivoir or to lube the pinion begs. AND the I.T. book is not too clear as to which cooler lines go where as they show the lines at the M.C.V. as being side by side and there are above one another thanks in advance George
