Most add on power steering systems like you are talking about put a pump up under the hood and run it off of the water pump/generator pulleys. Been a while since I have seen one up close. The pump resembles a car/truck power steering pump. The belly pump is not a good option as was mentioned. The Farmall 300's, 350's, 400's and 450's all used the live pump similar to a live hyd. M would have.
