So if it is part of a larger operation, I think it can be successful. There are also companies who specialize in generator rebuilds, carb rebuilds, and the such.

A successful business usually is going to have low overhead (ie be the low cost provider), have high volume, and a reasonable profit margin.

I have not done it, but my opinion is that a company whose sole income is generated from the restoration of tractors would be destined for failure. I'm sure this will generate a debate, but is my opinion. If it helps my credibility at all, I have an MBA, I love tractors, and would love to do just what you describe, but I just don't think it is workable....BB
