If I had a question about an implement I'd take a picture of it to my local IH dealer and ask Lynnford. He works at the parts counter and knows not only every model, but can grab any parts book and go right to the correct diagram. The other guys handle the easy questions and ask him when they are stuck.

As far as the pitman use a straight grained hardwood, ash or hickory are good choices.
