Last summer I flushed out the cooling system on my Farmall 200 with a commercial flush - little came out. Then tried using plain water and 1/4 cup of dishwasher detergent. Would work her for a couple hours or more, and drain it out. Got lots of rust and scale - often plugging the drain tube. (Lowest part of cooling system.) Had to clean out the scale and rust out of the drain tube with a screwdriver several times. It took a number of cycles, before I got to the point of diminishing returns. Then I used several washes with baking soda, and then fresh water, before putting anti-freeze back in. Yes, it did help with the cooling.
