David, That tractor may not have come from the factory with a water pump. Water pumps were added late in the super A model run, exactly when is a matter of some debate (see page 2 or 3 of this forum). If it was added, the adder may or may not have put the thermostat in. If it is there it should be in the housing that attaches to the head to connect the top hose. I think it required a different housing for the 'stat. I'm not positive though.
