No spark at all means it could be shorted out or not a continuous circuit somewhere. I'd suspect the wiring first, you should have the battery's voltage all the way to the points when they are open. Is the coil getting voltage from the switch with the distributor disconnected? Is there still voltage on the distributor side of the coil before and after the distributor is reconnected (again make sure the points are open, they ground it)? If it has a ballast resistor check it too, might have overheated and cracked.
