A guy I knew in high school thought he was a transmission rebuilding specialist. He proceeded to tear down and rebuild his car's auto tranny in his garage. At the end of the project, he had a big coffee can full of parts left over, and he didn't know where in the tranny they went, so he buttoned things up, test-drove it(it seemed to run decent), and sold the car really fast. Some specialist.
