1940's M's usuall were sold with a Little Genius #8 type 3-14" plow, in 1950 we bought a '48 W-6 in good but stock condition (248 cu. in. engine) Well, rthe "old 6" could pull this plow okay in 3rd and 2nd gears but you could tell it was pullin' it's guts out and the plow did'nt stay in the ground any too good either. We traded for a new John Deere #55 3-14" plow and-man, what a difference, the "old 6" literally ran with it and with decent points(shares) it plowed anywhere. It's bad to say here but I'd try to find a green plow with yellow wheels and take 'er easy on yer good old M.
