Another thing which happens on a lot of tractors is if the tractor sets outside a lot, rain water will rin down the shift lever into the transmission and when the weather gets cold turns to frost and plugs the filter. For customers with tractors that set outside I wrap the shift lever with electrical tape in the area of the cotter key, spring, and bonnet. This keeps moisture from entering the transmission.
