Adjusting the valves on a Super C

I recently posted a leaky head gasket problem and you guys came thru with flying colors. Copper spray gasket from permatex did the trick. No more leaks . Thanks
Now ,about setting the valves. Do you go to top dead center on #1 cyl. and then gap the valves for .013 cold or hot? Also does each cyl. have to be top dead center and then set the intake and exaust or can you put #1 cyl. on top dead center and adjust all the valves at the same time to .013
Your comments and help will be greatly appreciated. Heard of many different ways to do this and now I am confused.
