1948 Farmall Cub
Antique Tractor
 | | Serial #40625. When I acquired this tractor it was barely running, had a lot of rust, leaked and burned a lot of oil. In August, 2000, I tore it down, found one cracked piston, the front engine seal was completely worn away and the wrist pin bushings were just about worn through to the rods. All of the paint was stripped and the tractor was primed and painted. The grille comes from a newer cub, but it was on the tractor when I got it. It appears that the tractor had been tipped over once and was badly damaged. The right front axle and king pin had been replaced. The tractor will now be used for light work, some snow plowing and in general, is a fun toy and hobby. Submitted by Harold Jones, from NY |
