Deer Eating Corn Stalks

Are there any methods that keep deer from eating corn stalks? This year they started eating the plants three week after planting.
They pull the middle out and leave the rest. I have probably lost about 3 acres. The dry blood product is very messy, washes off
after a rain, and must be sprayed on every two weeks. Can't get a permit to shoot them. Instead, warden told be to build a fence.
One farmer said to try Irish Spring Soap hanging on a post around the field. Would a very loud noise maker powered by a small solar
panel that is used on stop signs work? Any practical ideas would be appreciated.

A fence will only push the deer to dine at a different location. To fence all your fields will likely cost more than what the deer damage. Muskrats and raccoons can still get under or over most fences and still cause a fair amount of damage too. More people chalk it up as a cost of farming and find something else to worry about or another project to work on.

Was at the research center in Ashtabula ,the rumtament speaker said they have a treatment to put on the plants that will make them sick and its a learn process they wont eat it again. Such as buds at ends of rows in grape vineyards. Sorry dont remember any more about it . .
?
Notice some of top of my sweet corn sreaded . My corn not worth a hoot not worried about it.

Randy according to the DNR people we have more deer per square mile than anywhere else in the USA. We have found nothing to deterr them. They tear down any fences we put up. DNR has a fence design supposed to keep to keep them out. It didn't work, they destroyed our organic Sweet Corn. We've tried everything they recommended. One year, they gave me 30 deer depreciation tags. He told me to share them with the neighbors. I couldn't share them because he had passed out the same amount to them. Deer will Come right up to your door and destroy everything in your planters that are just a few feet from your door. I would holp they will design a new breed of corn, beans, and hay that the deer don't like.
We are now able to use hi-powered rifles to shoot the darn pests. I'm going to call them again this year and see if they can hand out 30 for this fall. Good luck with the pests.
