Got another .75 to 1.50 inch of rain this early morning.

This is a relatives field north of me.

We've had the debate before about what's worse, too wet or too dry. Once those spots are flooded out, they're not coming back. It takes a long time to get rid of all that water. When you're too dry, things can turn around in a few hours if the rains start.

I'd like to see an inch with all the heat we've got, but I sure don't want to see what you guys have.

I guess that field survived the 3-4” of rain that fell on it fairly ok, but that little ditch running north there was a spot that got 6-8” of rain and all that coming down the ditch backed into the field the following day.

A drought that doesn’t let up for 6 months or longer Is still worse I think because nothing grows and there’s no surface water and no subsurface water to irrigate anything the wells and streams start to go dry and not much can live without any water . At least there is some patches of green I can see in your photograph

Tend to agree....you can get more done in a dry year than a wet one....and it will rain eventually....maybe not timely though.
