Farm place will look a little different....

Was supposed to have a shower go through, instead we got over 2 inches of rain in 2 hours, most of that came in 15 minutes, and little hail and little gusty winds.

Went outside to do chores in between two waves of rain, and the silo was gone.

I was not in school the last time it was used, so its not really a loss. just a mess to clean up. It was getting weaker over the years, looked to be leaning a bit the past decade, away from the barn fortunately.

I'm surprised those things haven't done more damage or killed more people as the age and get unsound.

Wow! That must have been quite a wind to do that. At least it leaned/fell away from the barn. Many old silos around Central NY from when there were many small dairy farms. Steel, tile, poured concrete, wood and concrete stave were all popular materials. There was a time when a lot of the old wood silos were torn down for the lumber. My dad worked building poured concrete silos in the northern part of NY in the early/mid 1950's.
