Hay auction

Too windy to spray. Again. Or fly a drone. Too hot to do real work. In the mid nineties.

So, wife and I went to the hay auction. It’s not quite an hour north of me. Something to do, see something different, haven’t been out in a while. Took a few bales along, hoped to pay for the gas for the trip and maybe the drive through at Culver’s.

Worked out pretty good.

Not my best pic but I hate to show people, or details on such stuff. Was only 12 bundles of hay, and I think 4 sets of round bales.

Even with the wind, it was a hot day.

Was only 12 bundles of small squares, all was grass hay. Looked reasonably good all of it, the courser swamp grass hay was $2, the better uniform grass hay was $3.50-5.00 a small square.

Hard to get a good idea from such a small offering, I think more buyers showed up for a bargain this time of year, and ended up those that needed hay had to bid up. The last bundle sold the highest, bet more hay shows up next week again.
