Side dressing

Was 70-90% chance of rain today, tonight, tomorrow.

Called the coop yesterday, and they managed to get me a spreader of urea this mid morning. Those fellas work hard, everyone wants to sidedress the same time....

Side dressed a very few acres of bare corn here and 5 miles away, plus a light topping on some acres that had fall hog manure applied, plus managed to run through my small grains, had two wheelbarrows full left I could spread out on a regular corn field.

Got done at 2:00, rain was clearly headed this way by 3:00, going to be a perfect day.

Well, 9:00 now and not a drop of rain.

Hum. Flooding on both sides of me so I hate to complain and get that......

See how the next 24 hours goes.

good to get things done!! if you want rain... have a neighbor cut some sacrificial hay!! so Is that a 5000 ford row crop?

Yes, it is the 5200 version, operator platform above the transmission not straddling it.

What size tires are on it?? im putting one back together and I cant decide what size fronts to use with the 16.9x38 rears..
Yours has a nice looking stance..

I will look tomorrow to make sure. The rears are weather cracking pretty bad, would have good enough tread and all.

Bought it at an auction years ago, ends up being my go to tractor, planting, hay cutting and baling, spraying, moving round bales. Nice size for my operation.

Was an odd auction, the old fella had taken nearly all his tractors apart then put them 7/8ths together again, was a little scary to buy stuff there. Drove it home 60 miles was 65 degrees but there was a 25mph headwind that day, I was froze when I got home!

Also have 16.9x38. With 10.00-16 up front.

So I never noticed until yesterday, one is a Goodyear, one is a Firestone up front. The 4 rib tread looks very similar from the seat, never looked at the sidewalks all that close at the same time. Ha.

I wonder what that translates into in modern tire nomenclature. I’ve gotten lost on the several different ways they number tires from old to new.
