I just reread your saving feed post. I hope you are doing better now, sorry to hear you had to cut your cow herd down. I wonder if the standing corn you haven?t got and is too soft to pick is any where near your pastures so you could run a temporary fence around some of it and let the cows harvest it for you. A lot of us miss your posts and pictures and wish the best for you.

We got froze up and I've picked a lot of corn since Monday. Yesterday didn't go so well,it was so cold the stalks were brittle and kept plugging the picker, but it's better today. It's supposed to warm up and that's gonna be a problem on some of the ground, but I'll go whole hog for as long as I can.

The corn that's too immature isn't where I can pasture it,but I'm going to have a long crib that isn't full when I'm done. If I can pick that rubber stuff,I'll put it on the down slope at the end of the crib so it's up on top and should mix with the dry stuff coming out and in to the grinder.

I'd still like to bale some stalks if it gets cold again without any snow, but I'm not gonna quit picking corn to do it right now.
