anyone using Sunn Hemp for garden cover crop?

I have been doing Sunn Hemp as a cover. Still trying to figure out what works best. It is a tropical plant and a legume. It grows to 6' in 60 days. Frost kills it. Last year I let it stand till after frost and I think I lost some of the value as the leave blew away. This year I have knocked it down with a hand scythe twice. A flail mower is supposedly too tough and cutting it too short will kill it as well so I cut it at about 2'. As fall approaches I need to decide if I cut it down with a bar mower and leave it as a mat to plant certain crops in next year, or do I use my Case rotary cutter which will chop it up a little giving me the option to try and plow or disk it in.

THis is a rather new crop for the US and I don't find a lot info for small scale plots. Most tear it up with big machines which I do not have. I am anxious to learn what others are doing.

I plant it in the Summer in my deer plots to keep deer in the habit of coming to the plots, about this time of year I'll disk it down and whatever else has grown in the plot.Disk a couple times and then plant my Fall cover crops.Disking it in green would add more to the soil than letting it get dry after frost.

Thanks. I know that stuff pretty fiberous especially after it dries. I only have a 6' straight disk. Do you think it will cut it?
