I finally finished planting corn today, 6-17. A full month from start to finish and I actually only planted four days total. I guess there's really is something to that saying that if you start something on Friday, you'll never get done, because I planted the first of it on a Friday. Over 50 years of corn planting and this is the third latest I've ever finished.
I sure hope haying goes better than this.

Been at a month plowing 60 acres still not done and then rain still hasn?t stopped yet . Haying should be a real good time this year but if it continued as dry as it was last year there would be no dry farm hay anyway black hay I?d still better than frozen bare dirt

Haying.... HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA.... swather...ready, rake....ready, baler....ready, bale wagon...ready..
WEATHER..NOT READY.. have had 6 inches since end of may.. and cant get four days dry.. that and the muddy ground drying out.. weather forecast has us in a flood watch for tues-wed.. 3 more inches possible.. LOL Hay looks great..some areas I have brome and orchard grass waist high, thats the grass only not the stem .. slow cutting but will be great hay once in shed..already have clients calling wanting.. I laugh and they understand..

I just got done rolling ten bales. I was pretty much out and had to have some to feed in the feedlot,so I cut a little bit over the weekend. It had a few green streaks in it,but I'm feeding it right up,so it's better than the junk I was cleaning up out of the fencerows, that's for certain.
