Continuous Spring wheat with fall cover crop

Hello,
Was wondering if anyone does continuous spring wheat with a fall seeded cover crop after harvest that is tilled in the spring for the wheat to be seeded again. Would this act as a break in the crop similar to a rotation and also replace some nutrients? Thanks

A lot could depend on how much growing season you have (must be more northern to be using spring wheat?) and how much water you get for the cover crop to grow.

If you were south enough you would run winter wheat and second crop beans.

I?ve been running a few cover crops on a very few acres of my farm mostly for grazing. Alfalfa/clover plowdown mix, plus some turnips.

But I grew up fighting non crop plants in the fields (weeds) before there was much herbicide use, and now that we have a chance to get clean fields and good crops, we
all want to grow a non crop crop with it again....

It?s hard to wrap my head around it all.

Guys do peas or sometimes turnips around here for

Ohio it is all fall seeded wheat usually following a crop of soybeans. Back when oats were raised for the grain for feed wheat followed the Oats that was usually put in where there was beans the year before. Then after the wheat it might be alfalfa for hay the next year, try for a double crop of soybeans that will make a crop perhaps half the time. Then some use tillage radishes.. Noticing something else in some fields that I don't know what it is.
