Corn price vs hogs

I've been watching the corn price thread with interest even though I've got zero worthwhile input. I do however have a question.

I've been approached several times about raising several batches of roaster hogs. Hogs in the 120 lb range for hog roasts. These things are actually running close to $1.60 per lb right now and might justify putting this high priced corn through the hogs.

I raise one batch per year of custom raised hogs for limited customers on a cost + basis and it's always a worthwhile venture. However this would keep me in the market year round and possibly hedging the potential of the slumping corn market.

Anyone else raising roasters or have any input?

I hope some have input on this. My wife would like to have some roaster size hogs as well as our normal full size hogs for butchering that we sell through the CSA. I have been a bit skeptical of the whole thing and I am sure the timing to get the right size at the peak of the roaster season would be a trick. The added cash flow would be nice.
