How long after you spray 2-4-D does it take to work......sprayed a pasture this afternoon and then cam in and looked and they are forcasting rain tonight which was not in forcast this morning..........lots of goldenrod and other weeds I wanted taken care of............but now am afraid i wasted money......

my nursery man says that round up will be ok for it to rain on it after its been sprayed and on the plant for 30 minutes. may take a little longer since you've got rain. be patient.

If you look at the label of your product I think it will say 8 hours. Depends on your exact product tho. Most 24D is in the 8 hour for rain area.

well, no rain all night so hopefully I will be ok..........guess we will see........going to take a quick walk thrugh the field this morning before heading off to work.......

If you spray 2,4-D first thing in the morning, you can usually see the broadleaf weeds curling up by early afternoon. It will take a week or more for the whole plant, root and all, to completely die.
the label should mention how long it needs to be before rain, but I'd expect it would be measured in a few hours, not days.

went out again this afternoon and looked right before the big rains of this evening (when is this rain going to let up a bit?. Did not say stop cause it will soon enough for the summer) and found the goldenrod already taking a dump, the clover to be wilting and the pig weed to be curling up..........so looks like the job is mostly done..............once cut in a month or so I will wait for the remaining weeds to emerge out of the stubble and blast them again...................
