I have a 1937 Allis M Crawler, the engine including the head has been gone through, new rings and barings, and a rebuilt head, When I replaced the head the head gasket got twiked ( but if it was enough to cause a probelem I don't know. There is also an issue with the manifold. The gasket is not all that great, Any way long story short I can't get the thing to fire off. it has compression, but it is not pulling the fuel( my tendacy is to suspect a leaking manifold gasket) Any way that being said I was approched the other day about selling it. The only thing that is missing is the seat and the walking board other then that it is all there. I also have the original trailer, and a 10 ft land leveler and double gang disk. he is offering me $2000.00 for the whole collection,, Should I take it or woould I be foolish
Thank you Edward Clark

With those manifolds a hole would get burned by the exhaust into the intake part and not start. The cure is to put a piece of pipe to line the intake above the Carb

I have a 42 M crawler with no starter. $2000 for what you are selling sounds okay to me. After all there isn't a lot you can do with those old crawlers other than drag stuff. The collectors market is about dried up, so I think that I would take his offer and move on to another project. There are a lot of good deals available in todays market because stuff just isn't selling.

For a non running M the price seams ok. As what Traditional Farmer said about the manifold he is right on. The fairly thin pipe inside the manifold above the carb will burn out in time, and cause a vacuum leak. The piece is only a piece of metal tube pressed in after the manifold is made. It should be able to be removed with some success. Stan
