One last question, maybe- on 06 brake issue

related to the MCV, the plug that holds in the pressure regulator valve and spring into the MCV. One thing I did notice is that the 1206, and this nightmare06, have 2 different plugs. The one on the 1206 is a flush flat plug, while the one in the nightmare had about an 1/8" protrusion or extention in it. Could this possibly be causing the pressure regulator valve to not operate properly? I know I can hold the pressure back on the bleed screw, but before I swap just for s's and g's, I thought I would ask. I am also going to reasemble the brakes, which will have new springs, new pads, in spec plates, adjuster plate is about .400" thick, intermediate plate is .645" thick, and I beleive pads are .440" thick. The adjuster springs seem to be good. It seems like if there was no "insulator" on the piston, things would measure out alot more even. Guessing NOT having that bonded insulator is a bad idea huh?

I don't think your mcv is the problem, but you said adjuster springs. What self adjusters do you have in that rig. The 806 has a helical screw type adjuster with a small blade type spring to keep the screw from rotating back after it adjusts. The 66 series tractors and late 56 had a tube type self adjuster with a coil spring loaded plunger. I'm thinking you have a miss match set up there. I would sure like to see a pressure gauge on that brake valve also, on input and out put.

The "spring " I was talking about was that little tab as you stated that holds the adjusters in place. I am going to rig up a gauge to check the pressure coming out of the brake valve. I will have to find what pressure range gauge I will need. If those adjuster keepers arent keeping the adjuster screw put, will that allow to much compression? Also, when I stack the brake disks's, the 2 plates, AND an insulator disk in the drum(cover)all that stuff is about 1/16-3/32" taller than the cover is deep. Even With the piston fully retracted into the housing I dont see how there can be more than a couple thousanths space in there. So frustrating. I love old red tractors but I am abot ready to trade all 4 of my bigger tractors in for one newer one, but who wants a tractor either locked, or no brakes.
