there is a company [someone] that is to produce b-100 bio-diesel, in my town. will sell for 3.50 gal. before going to FTE site to ask about fuel for my truck, what have you experienced with the fuel for your farm equipment. [respectfully], respond if you have used it, don"t want to over crowd thread with guesses.

I use the 20% and love it. Used it both in my semi and farm eq. no problems and good fuel effiency in the semi. I don't use enuff fuel at one time in the tractors to be able to tell. Before winter, on farm tractors, be sure to change fuel filter and tone down the % of soy oil mixture.

I agree with Tom, the added lubricity of B20 can be a big help. Some people complain about its cleaning properties but that seems foolish to me, its doing a job you were going to need at some point no matter what.
Assuming the fuel is certified through some agency I'd grab it. I probably wouldn't use B100 but if you consider it a very inexpensive fuel additive its great stuff.

Everything I've read about true biodiesel (not WVO, waste vegetable oil) is that it's BETTER for ANY diesel engine than diesel.

I ran 100% in my Powerstroke, but as it get colder, youll need to blend it down as it will gel pretty fast. My neighbor has one of those small JD compacts that he still uses it, and I dont think hes had any fuel related problems, but I know he starts blending it out around the end of Sept since he doesnt run it that much after that. If you have a fairly clean syatem you should be OK, but be prepared to change a few filters until its all clean and bio will clean the junk.

I tried a few tanks of it. The smell is a little strange, kind of like being down wind from a Chinese restaurant. It did a pretty good job of cleaning my fuel system and didn't smoke as bad as regular diesel (my tractor needed fuel injectors badly).

The downside is that it gels around 50F. Dunno if I would use it again, I don't really burn enough to want to keep track of what I have in the tractor and fuel cans when winter comes.

Good luck.

As long as your getting the soy bean bio it works awesome. I ran 100% in my big truck with a 550hp cat for 7mo of the year and 50% the remaining. I would still be running it but the A-hole supplying it switched to the animal fat blend and cost me big money! Wiped out all the injectors. But THERE WAS NO PROBLEMS WITH THE SOY BEAN BLEND and I picked up a 1/2 mpg with it. I wish I can get it for under $4 , it's almost $5 for b 20 .

I have a hard time believing they can sell it for $3.50. It is easy to say what they are gonna do when they are looking for investment money.
