has the 6 cy,tornado motor,, new poinnts and condensor/ and we rebuilt carb , now it will sit and idle all day beautifully .. and throttle up like a wild one , rite now ,,amazing quick response .will start without choke on warm day . trouble is ,when i go to take off in 1st gear low range , the throttle is balky , and the motor often stalls, snorts and bucs, jumps, jerks ,,,, dont think it is runing rich ,perhaps the opposite,, maybee to low of float setting on carb ? ... but not sure , any ideas from you fellas?

with the engine off, peek down the carburetor while opening the throttle and watch the accelerator pump to see if its getting a good fuel shot. if your interested, i have an old kaiser sedan rusting away that has a super charger on it. that may wake the jeep up some. car came with the farm when i bought it.

Also check the vacuum advance. This can be checked with a timing light, rev the engine and see if the timing advances. WaltMo

I agree. My hunch is the vacuum advance too, sometimes those rubbers hoses need to be replaced. Yours could be factory- 50 years old?

Holy Crapola, thats a mccullough supercharger. Haven't seen one of those since the 57 T-bird and 57 Retractable at Carlisle.

What engine is it bolted to?

Aaron

aaron, its on a 1956 or 57 kaiser frazer 4 dr sedan. 6 cylinder automatic. it came with this farm when i bought it. tried to see if any collectors wanted the car for parts, went on the kaiser frazier owners website and posted pics. car is rough but has a complete drive train. had one guy offer me 300 dollars for the entire car if i delivered it to him 350 miles away. another guy from arizona wanted me to pull the motor and trans along with everything for the supercharger, crate it up and send it to him for 700 dollars. i'm about at the point of calling the scrap guy to haul it away for scrap price.

That blower is on a 54-55-56 ? Kaiser Frazer with I believe, the 226 Continental engine.
The company did not have the money to tool up a V8 to compete with the big three, so a blower on a flat head 6 was a last ditch attempt to compete. It did not work, the company folded.
