Father Passed Away

My father peacefully passed away last night after several weeks of complications from a brain injury. I was able to sit with him, hold his hand and play music until the end.

He was my best friend, the best mechanic I have ever known, and a great father. I have learned much from him and will miss him. I am grateful that he is at peace now. I have his tractors and will use them in remembrance of him.
 
You'll have many opportunities to "visit" with your Dad whenever you use one of his tractors, tools, etc. Cherish those moments.

God is with you.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I lost both of my parents about 4 years ago.

David, My sympathy, heres a quote to ponder: "New beginnings are scary, endings are usually sad, but its what was in the middle that counts" Sounds like you ahd a great "middle"

I'm so sorry for your loss. You'll miss him more with each passing day. But as time goes along, you'll make peace with his passing. My father has been gone 10-1/2 years. Never a day goes by I don't think about him. All we can do is to try and live our lives up to the standards which our fathers led theirs. My prayers go out to you and your family.

Lost my father almost a year ago now to cancer. He was my best friend also. been a tough year but God and time heal.
 
So sorry for your loss. My father passed away in 1972 when I was in the service. He was a great father with a big heart and I miss him to this day. Our prayers go out to you and your family.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Your father is gone only in physical body. One night when you are at your lowest, you will wake up and think you are dreaming. Your father will be standing at the foot of your bed and in a very reassuring voice tell you everything is alright. Happened to me and have been at peace with his passing since.

I'm sorry to hear that. Hang on to the good memories, and the tractors too. I have grandpa's tractors, and will be keeping my father's too.
 
sorry to hear about your loss. love to read about family's that tractor together. my father never got that chance to drive a tractor, lived in city. now, he could've with me.

My heart goes out to you. I know how you feel. Try and remember all the good times. I lost a close friend when I was a lot younger. On his headstone it says , "And though it's just a memory , some memories last forever." I have always held on to the memories. In the end that is all we have.Enjoy those tractors. That is the way he would want it.

Time will heal the wounds BUT you will see your Dad again, someday.

My condolences. Good to hear he went with two on such good terms. You have been spared much pain.
My Dad is 80 and still farming but he's a little bent man from the big strong Father of my youth. I worry knowing someday he will be gone. I try to spend as much time with my kids and they with Mom & Dad as we can.
 
You loss is a hard one to bare but it is one most of us will have to do someday. I am lucky so far both of my parents are still with us. In their late eighties but still going.

My prayers will be for your family.

May God bless you in this difficult time. My father passed away last February. I can attest that memories DO last, even while the loss hurts intensely.
