O/T Remember the problem with niehbors dog??

Well 2 months or so has gone by...heard nothing after the sherrif talked to them...their dogs kept coming over and killed one of my chickens.

Last week I was finishing up with cows and he pulled in the drive up to the barn got out and told me they got rid of one dog and put in an underground fence for the other dog. He then gave me a $50 gift card to TSC for my trouble. I thanked him and we talked a bit. They are leaving out of town and I offerd to keep an eye on his place...he gladly accepted. We exchanged phone number for emergencys....maybe a new start

That is good.
Loose dogs are a menace, whether they tear up stuff or not.
I have a neighbor that has a dog running loose at times, my wife almost ran it over in our driveway a month ago. The dog will will eventually end up hit by a car in my driveway or the road.

It appears that he has decency within and probably was just a green horn about country living,unaware that his dogs could do harm to others. He could end up being a good neighbour now that he "Gets" it.

Dogs, like othe livestock, can become a liability if not properly cared for and restrained. Some folks just don"t get it. West Michigan has had several dog attacks on people recently. Owners appaer on TV saying the dogs are "just playing," etc. Try to explain that to the guy with two broken arms, or the lady with nasty gashes on her arms and torso.

Folks next door took in two Sheltie dogs as pets. The older one obeys their electric fence underground wire, but the younger one ignores it!
That dog drives me nuts with her barking, snarling, and just crazy chasing everything. I finally discovered--if i make a loud noise, it drives the dog back home. So, i toss a small tin box up in the air, and the dog runs and hides! The box goes"BOINGGG!!" Enough to scare the bejabbers out of anything!
I like dogs, but that one is a PIA!

Just this past week a few loose dogs attack a woman and killed her, She was just walking down the street.some folks actually saw it,called police,when he got there he had to shoot one dog! the dogs were a pit bull mix, they should have that breed stopped! Just my .02 cents worth..Jim in N M
