Are you Alabamians alright?

My better half is on the way to Alabama right now to be with some family. All kinfolk are okay but there are some shaken nerves.

I've seen storms that look pretty bad but what I saw on TV last night was unreal. I hope all you folks are doing okay and you're in our family's thoughts and prayers.

Did they say over 150 tornadoes the last day ot two?
How about helping these people here at home rather than going to some foreign country to give your money away. I usually don't get political, but charity begins at home.

Last I heard, the death toll was at 168. Much of that is from Tuscaloosa, I believe.
I sure hope that some charity funds will be redirected back here to America.
I am praying for you all, SF

3 of my employees in the our Alabama office lost their homes, but werent injured luckily. The damage is unfathomable

I just heard some lives were lost in Virginia now. Dam storm is still chewing across the south.

You folks on the southern east coast better keep your heads up!

Ya makes a person wonder what is going on with the weather. Tornado's where it is not common to have them. Record rain falls in some areas and or lager amounts of rain in just a day or 2. Never know maybe this is the beginning of the end they say about 2012

That storm flattened a lot of houses and barns near us here in Mississippi on it's way over there. We all ok here. Paul

On my way home this morning I had to come through
where the tornado crossed Rt. 501 in Halifax Co.
Just behind the store was where a lady was thrown
out of a mobile home and she died in the road
ditch. The mobile home went through the air about
50 yards. 7 others injured. 30 homes destroyed and
oak timber laying all over the place. Roads
blocked and power lines down in all directions.

This is new to us here. We've had small tornadoes
in the past as far back as the 70's but this one
is far larger than anything I've seen in person. A
good friend of mine in west Kentucky told me a
month ago that tornado alley had shifted to the
east. For now it seems he's right.

We have so much forest land here you can't see
them coming until they are right on top of you. We
have pretty good warning systems but if you try
and get out of the way the question is which way
do you go.

Lord help all the folks that got hit yesterday.
We just had one local. Can only imagine what's
it's like in those areas that had so many.

Our farm is about 7 or 8 miles form where one of the tornados leveled one community in calhoun county. We were lucky just had a few trees blown down, one of my wifes friends wasn't so lucky her and her new husband lost everything.

this is really interesting it has been reportrd this is the worst tornado season since 1974.
on the il wis state line and i'm geussing most of the upper midwest it has been said this is the wettest spring since 1974.
i was talking to a man today who told me in 1974 he didn't start planting corn until june 1 then we got an early killing frost about sept 20th. around here first killing frost is about oct 10 th to 15 th.
lots of people have been griping about the cold rainey weather and rivers flooding we might have snow tonight ,but what those people have getting in the south makes ours look good.
