Do I need it or not????

Decided on the mulcher I want to buy and have just been putting it off.
Only want to go over pastures after horses pick over and give them an even start and pulverize manure. In reality, would a drum mower and running over with the quad and chain harrow (have all that now) serve the same purpose???

Would probably serve the same purpose, but involves time and gas to make another pass over the field. I sometimes hang my chain harrow behind the rotary mower to break up the piles. Depending on how long the grass is the harrow will kind of roll the grass up into clumps. Don't like that when it happens for aesthetic reason. Not sure what would happen behind your disc mower.

Face it you really just want something else to hang behind the tractor so go buy it.
