While on the subject of Cole Planters...

What planter do these fit, I'm gonna buy him 1 corn plate if I can find one. Any ideas on where to get plates like this?

Why should you be buying the corn plate? You told him it only had one and he still bought it. Helping him find one is one thing but it's certainly not up to you to pay anything for one.

It's for the older planters with the vertical hopper. The plate sits flat in the bottom. 1940s vintage. Don't know model numbers or if they even had model numbers.

What if you can't find the right corn plate, he gets a refund? Nobody has a right to be upset with you. The buyer knew it needed some other parts and he chose to buy it. Unless you put a gun to his head, he should be grateful you're helping him find the right parts. It shouldn't be at your expense though. If you would have had the right plates, or bought them, you could have sold it for more money. I bet he didn't pay a lot either.

Give him the link, below. Also tell him, that he can do his own research. If he isn't a whiner, he can buckle down and do a little looking on line. My experience is that Cole/Covington dealers sell parts for less than fleabay. Oh, and there are a lot of different corn plates. Back in the old days, they sold plates to plant the round kernels, at the ends of the cobs, as well as large, medium and small, flat plates.
