heat the my 2500 sq feet home,i have read a lot

buck and being 3 year old im sure i could re build
that puppy? whats your all thoughts

Boiler furnaces have to have the water treated with an additive to prevent pitting just like cylinder liners in heavy duty diesel engines. Soft water is much better also.
Your local dealer should have a test kit and details. Be sure and write down test results.

Some manufacturers have had so many problems they want a water sample to test for you.

As you can see it is possible to buy somebody else's problem.

We bought one new, it took abour 2 years to pay for itself. Be sure you have an ample supply of low cost wood.

Theres a lot to consider, If you have central a/c then theres another coil going in your furnace/air handler which will restrict air flow. Unless you have hot water heat setup. You can speed up the blower but not much help. The water needs additive to protect and discharge. The price and install is really alot. And yes the leaks. A lot of wood and most don't have brick just thick steel.Electric is a must. The positive is a buddy heats his house, garage, shop, and even a room in the barn with hot water. The house was set up for a boiler. It's what works for you.
