Brought home a 1937 John Deere Unstyled A (PICS)

Brought this 1937 John Deere Unstyled A home yesterday. Had a heck of a time loading the tractor on a trailer that was not the right size, to narrow, but we managed. I know it is sitting to far back on the trailer but thats all the frather we could take it. Had to take it slow going home, so it was a good thing that it was nearby. I also had to take the front wheel from my 1948 A to mount it on the front of this tractor to get it loaded.

It is a very cool tractor. Almost everything is there, and what you don't see is a box.

I purchased it for $475 from the grandson of the original buyer when new. The tractor is stuck, but I know I will have a fun time working on it. The transmission shifts into all the gears, and the tractor rolls freely. I know it will take a lot of work, but I am up for it.

There are now 10 tractors in my collection

Enjoy the pictures and thanks for reading!

Nice find and I'm glad to hear you're going to save her! As simple as these old unstyled deers are, they sure are an eye catcher when they're cleaned up and restored.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with it. Congrats!

Glad you saved it from the scrapper at least ! Good price too. I don't see how you will ever find any time to work on/fix up any of these things ?

At least you can get them all rounded up and under cover of your new building. Fill the cylinders with atf or ?? and let them soak.

Wish I'd of keep all of them I dragged home and then had one huge auction when the prices shot up in the early nineties.
