Young man passed on !!! A life gone before it was time.

A young family friend took his life Saturday. He was just twenty years old. He had been to my place many times. He ran with some of my grand sons. Don"t know why he felt that this was what he had to do. My one grandson is taking it hard. The young man was at my place earlier in the day looking for my grand son. Makes you wonder what if.

There is no answering for it and nothing you can really say. Coulda, shoulda, woulda will drive you nuts if you let it, just move on and pay more attention to the folks that mean the most.

I have to agree with Dave2. My best friends son took his life a few weeks ago. It's a very hard part of life to see such a young man, let alone a son take his life. My deepest sympathy to the family. Just be there for your grandson and provide an open ear. God Bless!

very sad,,when someone believes they can not face another tomorrow ,,and therefore feel there is only one way out .My Prayers go out for the Family , sadly We loose a couple kids in the county each year .and a half dozen adults .Most the time Loss of Love triggers such drastic action . ,sat with serveral friends who have casually mentioned such a idea as a solution during the walk thru the valley ,,, been there a couple times myself . bourbon and friends does help ,but is not a permanant solution , One has got to find the true root of why one feels hopeless .THEN ,RESOLVE TO FIGHT TO CHANGE IT , OR LEARN TO RATIONALIZE AND ACCEPT THE HUMAN CONDITION WITH PEACE , But now, new modern problems have been thrust upon us . if o'dummy dont resign soon there will be more ...so many good folks are longin for the life they had , when they had a job ,and the joy of contributing and prospering with national pride .They have never had life so bad and feel defeated . Hopeless and Depressed feelings Are caused by anger at the lack of security ,lack of a rosey future , and the fact that one feels not a part of the process and therefore their needs and voices are ignored .but yet, they are held responsible../ . this is why so many take their lives in totaltarian governed countries ..

Don't be too quick to take too much blame. Sometimes you can't do anything about it. My Sister is a RN and paramedic who deals with these situations.
A surprising high percentage of these cases involve a birth/genetic defect in the brain/brain chemistry. Really no different than being born with any other physical impairment.
Sometimes you are no more responsable for this. Than you are for a teenage sports player dropping dead with heart failure from a unknown defect.
Still very sad.

been through it twice with 20 yr old males (relative and daughter's friend) about 10 yrs ago within 9 mos of each other. Toughest thing I've ever had to do in my life was break the news both times to my kids who were between 10-18 at the time. Still think about it a lot. Time heals all wounds, but there will always be a scar. One we'll never know why, the other we have a pretty good idea. My sympathies to all.

I can't really offer to prescribe a solution for people who get depressed. Sometimes when you're out of work, it feels like the whole world is closing in on you...and the calls seeking money you don't have never seem to end. Somtimes the only asset with any cash value that some folks have is the face value of their life insurance policy...and as long as the buzzards who pick the carcasses get their money, they honestly don't care if someone had to die for them to get paid, 'cause in this life, it's ALL about the money.

Not saying it applies in the case of the young man mentioned above...just saying that when it does happen, I can understand.

SIL's brother left us earlier this year no rhyme or reason that we know of, will never know what the true reason was. My oldest son worked same place and was with him almost whole shift that day said nobody would have thought anything was wrong

A few months ago, a 19 year old kid four houses down from me hung himself, over a girl, supposedly. His father came home a few hours later and found him. He has since put the house up for sale. It's so sad to see a young person's life cut short, and it's so hard on the family.

Lost my best Friend when I was 22. Took his life over a girl who left him. Changed my life forever. We shared birthdays and I'm reminded of him each year on my birthday. Only time brings some relief from the pain.Have tried to live my life differently. Value those close to you and treat them accordingly. Today may be the last time you see them.Life is short and full of surprises. Unfortunately some bad surprises too.

There have been several suicides in the area since December.
