Had to take the wife to town most of the day. Got home about 5 and discovered we had our first new lawmower this spring. Cute little guy, and mom is taking good care of him. From the looks of the milk sack, he's not going to go hungry! Guessing he was about 2 to 3 hours old when we got home.

They are Boers, most I have are registered. We have had so many now the wife doesn't get upset when I sell them off. The males always go, but I do keep some of the females.
I must admit though, seeing the miracle of newborns never gets old, nature is amazing.

We raise pygmys here. we actually got to see our new one born. Its a amazing site thats for sure. our little ones a male so thats why i told her he had to leave. plus i like our big male, he put our beautiful babies.

We should be having a set of twins here shortly. Hopefully they will be females since we just bought her and she was bred to a different male.

That is a cute little guy. In the background is that a shelter made from an upside down water tank?

No sir, these are Boers. Notice the long floppy ears. Saanen has ears that stand up, or actually more outward. Here is a picture I found on google of Saanen babies, the difference will be obvious.

Yes, many of the Boers have color. I have mostly all white but I also have an all black doe and an all red doe that I breed with an all white buck sometimes get multi colored kids. This kids mom is all white as you can see and the buck is all black, but she almost always throws all white kids. Here is a red head white body brother and sister born about a year ago.

And this black and white male was born late last year, his sister is all white and we kept her for future breeding.

Yes, you are correct. I actually have 4 of them and I call them the goat playhouses. They are Rubbermaid 300 gallon tanks that were leakers and I got them for 5 bucks each. I cut a hole en each end retaining the bottom lip (that would be the top ring when used for water) and they get under them during the day and lay on top of them when it's cooler weather. They also have larger covers with hay racks but seem to prefer the upside water tanks. As you can see, as long as you leave the ring in place the tank won't spread open with weight on top as you can see below. This big boy is no lightweight!

Great looking kids. Kidding season is my favorite time of year. We raise dairy's, LaMancha mainly, but did used to raise Bore's as well. Nothing cuter that a baby goat. They are the only animal I have ever seen born and ready to go play within a day.
