Altman Taylor threshing machine

I am trying to find any information about an all wood Altman Taylor threshing machine. I am most curious about what year it is. Is there a web site I can go to? Or any info any of you have would be appreciated. Thanks

I would just google or bing the name, best option out there. Horse drawn sites- can't think of the name right now, horse power? I'll take a hunch and say it is probably locally made, or in your region, and being all wood? most likely before 1900, back to 1850's if it was well covered and babied. What ever you do, don't 'restore' it. Keep it covered, dry, off the ground if possible, even rolled onto one brick each wheel, don't sand, buff, grind or even oil anything till you know what you've got. Stuff like that has to be treated like antique furniture, boring, but just the way it is. Let us know what you find out- good luck!

Aultman-Taylor never made steel threshing machines. They made wood machines up until 1923, when they were taken over by Advance-Rumely. The most common A-T to find is the New Century, which was made from the turn of the century until 1923. There was probably about 20,000 of this model made. I've linked to a site with several A-T catalogs that have quite a bit of New Century info. Also, there are links to a couple other articles.

Here a photo of the threshing machine. We used it at the threshing show in Aug. at Prairie Village in Maison SD. We ran 3 racks threw her and she ran like a dream. I keep it shedded in a building with a concrete floor. Did have to putone patch on the straw blower.

Ok, that's a good shot of a great machine. When you said- 'all wood'-- well, I live in an area with 2-300 year old wooden contraptions, cheap ol' yankees wouldn't even splurge for screws or nails. That is in too good a shape to age, could be one of the last mentioned below, unless you find a serial # or do enough research to pick the changes over the years. Well, it runs and rolls, you keep it in a dry floor building, you are already all set. We kinda thought you just drug it home from a stone wall or something... we didnt think you had a mint machine! Keep her goin'! Nice part of the country you live in too.
