powder coat

I bought a couple new ft rims that are of course the wrong color. I'm thinking they're powder coated. I bought a set once for another tractor at whatever they used on them took forever to strip off in my blasting cabinet. I thought I'd try Easy Off oven cleaner. The oven cleaner didn't didn't even dull the finish. Is there anything that will strip this stuff off outside of blasting?

Tight high quality paint is a good primer for high quality paint. Sand to make tooth, and paint it. Jim

Jim is correct. I have been somewhat involved with powder coating for some time in a factory environment. If there was trouble with a part we sanded it to get rid of the flaws and then recoat it.

You can powdercoat right over powdercoat but surface prep needs to be done as stated or the top layer won't bite and will be prone to chipping.

If you want to remove powdercoating the best way is to degrade the coating with heat and then it'll come right off... I find a rosebud on the torch works well... Doesn't take much...
