Almost 90 here, wind really starting to dry up the ground. Girls went out to do some "creek-wackin' " Thank God we can raise our kids this way!

50 ac brush fire in northern Albemarle yesterday, stopped only at a river. Wind blew in the right direction, but not strong enough to jump the river. Second big day of brush fires this year.
Yup, it was dry. I was out looking for turkey scratchings. They"re out there, where I expected them. The stand"s in the right place.

Saw the first morrel of the season Thursday. A bit small but that just means there are more out there somewhere. Happy hunting.
