I'm looking for a 4 position switch with a momentary acc(reverse turn), where when you turn the key backwards, you have to hold it there or it will return to Off,also need off, acc/run and start. Right now the tractor has a key with off, run and momentary switch for the manifold heater and a seperate switch for starting, and I would like to put it all on one switch.

Good luck finding one like your looking for in the aftermarket. I've tried to find one like several times over the past few years with no success anywhere. Since everything went electronic the computer now takes care of the glow plugs so it's hard to find a manual switch set up to work them. About the only thing I've found available with the spring return 'acc' position are the lever type switches like were used for years on construction equipment where the switch positions had a spring return from the reverse/glow position and then a forward position for start...but no ignition/run position as it wasn't needed by the diesel's at the time since they had no electrical components in the fuel system.

That said the OEM switch for the Hatz on my service truck has the preheat feature your wanting just in a different configuration. The way it's set up you have Off--Run--then a halfway position between Run and Start for preheat--then the Start position. The switch is set up as you'd expect in that it springs back to Run from Start but halfway between you can 'feel' a slight click that is the preheat position. You simply hold the switch in that position to preheat before continuing the turn to start. The switch is also designed so if it doesn't start you have to return the switch to the Off position before trying to restart it. The engine I've got is an older 4LD Silent Pack but I'd think any of them with the intake heaters would have the same switch.

You can also check out Cole Hershee's site to see if they have anything you can use but unless I missed something all they have is the stuff I just mentioned above. Good luck.

The switch on my 1900 Ford tractor has a four position switch like the one you are looking for.

Backwards preheats with spring tension. Center off, forward on and far forward start.

Go to your local ford dealer and get one.

One for a early 930 Case diesel would also be what you're looking for..

Bought one about 5 years ago, think it was $30 or so then.

If that's the route you wanna go, all I can tell you is mine is a 1962 model.
