RRLund and RayP - frost/snow

Hows the frost looking out your way? Finally got this last snow off the ground over here. I haven't punched a hole with the auger yet but I think all the frost is finally gone over here.

My trees are being delivered this week so I hope I can hit the field this weekend without being knee deep in the mud.

The frost was pretty much gone til that ice storm a week and half ago. I'd hauled manure a few days and it went pretty good, but then those cold nights froze it up again so I could haul in the morning, but by 2PM or so it was nothing but slick grease with frost underneath and I was tracking too much mud on the road.
Snow was gone this morning, but now everything's covered again. The DTN looks like another rain storm coming if it warms up a little more, just heard thunder,so the snow could be gone in a matter of minutes. I'm just sick to death of mud, ruts, frost and cold,I'll tell you that!

Drove a few t-posts for temporary fencing for sheep shearing. Most places in the yard were still frozen a couple inches below the surface - donno how deep. With that last snow/ice storm, things haven"t progressed much in thawing. We still had somesnow/ice drifts on the ground here this morning. TODAY - sheep shearer is here, we got about 2 inches this morning, and now we"re having THUNDER-SNOW. Finally feeling warm after coming in for lunch, and it"s 3:30 now. We have about a dozen sheep trapped in the shelter, ready to be grabbed and sheared, but doesn"t seem like a good weather to be doing that. NOT REAL HAPPY.

Right after I posted this it started snowing, wet and heavy. Nows its 4pm and we have 1 1/2 to 2 inches. Must be what hit you this morning.

Oh well, hope its gets out of here quick. This is the worst thaw I have seen in a few years.
